Routine Dental Examinations
More than a “check-up”, a healthy mouth plays an important role in our overall health and well-being. It functions in speech, the ability to chew nutritious foods, and is the gateway to the rest of our body. Prevention and early detection are the cornerstones of good dental health.
During a dental exam our dentists are inspecting a number of areas and functions of your mouth to identify any early signs of dental disease in order to prevent small problems from becoming more serious. Through regular dental exams, we can detect any problems early to achieve good oral health.
Dental Emergencies
Dental emergencies can be a stressful and painful event, especially if it occurs when dental offices are closed. After hours, our office will have a dentist on call.
Dental X-rays
The use of dental X-rays is determined on a case-by-case basis. Our dentists will work with you to review your oral health and assess the potential benefit of obtaining an X-ray to support your care. During your dental exam we can discuss X-Ray details including benefits, frequency and cost.
Teeth Scaling and Root Planning
Removal of dental plaque and calculus from teeth is crucial to prevent cavities and gum disease. Severe gum disease causes at least one third of tooth loss in adults. It is recommended that teeth be cleaned at least twice a year.
