Dr. Katrin Turu graduated from the University of Toronto with Honours BSc and DDS degrees, followed by a 1 year dental/hospital internship at Toronto Western Hospital. Fulfilling her dream to live in beautiful B.C., she moved to Vancouver and eventually, together with her husband Dr. Peter Kearney, founded West Van Dental Group. She spent many years as part-time clinical instructor at UBC dental school. She has been a member of the Vancouver and District Dental Society (continuing education) since 1980.

Drs. Turu and Kearney have two adult children. Dr. Turu’s other non-dental preoccupations include skiing, hiking and the general outdoor pursuits that beautiful B.C. has to offer.
